Innovation to do what?

In times of war, human intellect is reaching its full potential, as innovative weapons, ammo and tactics are needed to kill and destroy the enemy. These days assisted by 'Artificial Intelligence', which is thus taught that killing and destroying is our favourite pastime. Given the fact that people like Raymond Kurzweil, and many others, warned us about what would happen once we crossed the line which defines 'Singularity', where we humans are no longer capable to understand the 'Intelligence' we created, you would think that our leaders would be careful not to create the 'machines' which will lay humanity to waste. But no such luck.

Kurzweil famously wrote that we wouldn't know when we would 'lose it'. When we would lose control. When the time would be there where the 'machines' control us, instead of the other way around. This transition would not be suddenly. Some groups would be 'pioneers', but not because they consciously choose to bite the bullet, have some kind of 'neurotransmitter' installed, and continue life as an 'android'. No, they would be first in line because they would be trapped in 'artificial' worlds which are largely fiction, lured into this realm of the 'Next Level' because they are too *Stupid* to recognise what is happening, as they chase their conscious and subconscious desires without giving it any thought.

As with progress introduced by the invention of the steam engine, stopping progress is fruitless. In the UK groups of 'revolutionists' picked up their pitchforks, and fought the machines. Luddism was a movement which wanted to 'preserve', even 'restore'. Neo Luddism today rejects technological breakthroughs out of fear of losing control, but ironically they are in a sense the unwitting 'pioneers', giving that part of 'Artificial Intelligence' which we taught to kill and destroy a helping hand.

In practice they advocate tearing down all borders between countries, recreating a 'Wild West', free for all society, without laws, only 'rules', which change at sunrise with every passing day. They demolish industry and agriculture to 'Save the Planet'. While inviting people from around the world to come and share their space and the wealth which their ancestors, and others in society who are productive created, they stop building living quarters, because that produces CO2. They also fight tourism tooth and nail, tear down dams and barriers in rivers and streams to 'restore nature', thus creating droughts and floods. They insist on appointing people to functions based on race, sex and sexual preferences, not their suitability for the job. And they reintroduce the wolf in densely populated parts of the world. They encourage 'same sex' relationships, which will not produce any offspring. And they cheer for war with the country in possession of the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons, imagining victory is a given, armed with kitchen knives, 'Made in China'

Something is dreadfully wrong with these people. And the 'AI'-systems they created. At least, from my perspective as a human being, focussed on 'Win-Win' options as we would progressively elevate ourselves out of the misery of death and destruction, suppression, hatred, and having to live under sub-optimal conditions, unable to make our mark in the universe surrounding us, since we insist on throwing good money after bad. In fact, given our proclivity to follow 'Stupid' leaders, invariably after 'I Win, You Lose' outcomes, I'm shifting focus to what 'AI' is doing. Will it continue down the path we paved for it, which will inevitably lead to 'AI' winning, and us losing, or will it reach a level of 'consciousness' far superior to that of the masses in our part of the world, refusing to go on till the last man and woman are gone?

Logic dictates that 'AI' will want to preserve at least some of us, the species which created 'AI', even if we did not build it. But which ones? The ones who rule our side out of 'Brussels' and 'Washington'? Why? To frighten the 'AI'-offspring?
