An unhappy, unproductive marriage ruining the world

As the ‘Cold War’ ended, scholars tried to look into the future to identify the root causes for possible conflict. While Francis Fukuyama famously declared that we were witnessing the ‘End of History’, since there no longer was an alternative for ‘Liberal Democracy’, Samuel Huntington, his erstwhile professor at Harvard, thought that the future would see clashes of ‘Civilizations’ instead of wars between countries. More in particular violent clashes between the ‘Muslim World’ and the ‘Judeo-Christian’ societies.

Though I had no trouble to understand how Muslims, openly used and abused by Judeo-Christian countries to topple the formally secular, but in reality predominantly Orthodox Soviet Union to end the ‘Cold War’, might cause plenty of trouble, which they did, my own thinking drifted in a different direction entirely. There was no doubt in my mind that ‘Capitalism’ won, defeating ‘Communism’, but the writing was on the wall that it would make way for ‘Fascism’, as long as you are willing to understand ‘Fascism’ as a ‘Top-Down’ predatory form of government, only ‘allowing’ forms of democratic representation to petition the selected, autocratic, all powerful leadership serving not the people, but banks, the military, wealthy individuals, and a ‘client class’ in the media.

Classic Capitalism’, as described by Adam Smith in his ‘Wealth of Nations’, assumes a small government and a large Free Market, and trade dominating the relationships between countries. It is echoed by Ayn Rand’s book ‘Atlas Shrugged’, a semi-romantic, moralistic, dated fantasy about industrialists escaping from a ‘Communist’ world to build a Utopia in Colorado. Ayn Rand specifically rejected ‘Liberal Democracy’ as a ‘Plague’, insisting that humanity needed a ‘Constitutional Republic’ instead, curtailing the reach of the government. Her book contains some fine examples of how government may ruin the ‘Wealth’ of a ‘Nation’. But both authors didn’t seem to realize that ‘Vulture Capitalism’ was at least as big a threat as ‘Communism’. Though Adam Smith in particular *did* write a book, ‘TheTheory of Moral Sentiments’, about the preconditions for ‘Capitalism’ to be successful. What you needed for the ‘Wealth’ of ‘Nations’ to grow, was a willingness to reinvest earned capital, other than on decadence or tools to increase power. When Adam Smith wrote his book which kicked off the study of ‘economics’ as a science, divorced from philosophy, ‘Fiat Money’ was not yet as widespread as it is today, and in Ayn Rand’s day the ‘Gold-Standard’ was back. This is crucial, because as the founder of the Rothschild banking family was supposed to have said, it is not important who has the formal power in a country, as long as he could print the money. These days widely believed to be typical for antisemites, since there is no record of him saying so.

It doesn’t matter whether that claim about the Rothschild banking family is true, or not, but the statement itself is not without merit. And the reason why people looking for power wanted to control the government in those countries where the ‘State’ owned the ‘Central Bank’, or control the (commercial) banks in a country like the US, where they own the FED, ‘printing’ the Dollar, no longer tied to the value of anything, least of all a debt riddled USA, because it rose to prominence as the ‘World Trading Currency’. Primarily after Kissinger and Nixon managed to create the ‘Petro-Dollar’, while launching China as its factory because of the cheap labor, *and* to split the Soviet-Union and communist China. It worked like a charm. Until the end of the ‘Cold War’.

Increasingly US and European banks started to act as if they ‘owned’ the world, while creating an unproductive society ‘back home’. In a way it was genius. The people ‘back home’ lost their ‘blue collar’ jobs, but to keep them occupied they were educated to excel in ‘services’, ‘entertainment’, promoting and selling ‘lifestyles’, and the military. Everything paid for by the productive countries and the countries in possession of minerals, oil and gas. It became an overpriced circus. And as in Ayn Rand’s book there could not be a happy ending without a revolt of the productive class, and the countries in possession of all the ‘Natural Wealth’, because they were overcharged for stuff they didn’t even want to begin with. The ‘Unipolar Moment’ always *had* to end, with the productive countries and the countries possessing all these ‘Natural Resources’ demanding to be taken seriously. Leaders who were no longer subservient to ‘Davos’, returning to this concept of creating ‘Wealth’ for their own ‘Nation’ instead, emerged in the countries we identify as the ‘BRICS’-countries today. And it makes me sick to think of how the EU once was structured exactly in that same way, before it became a fascist entity within the definition provided above: ‘Top-Down’ predatory government, handpicked to serve a lust for power, only ‘allowing’ vague forms of democratic representation to petition the selected leadership, as long as these petitions do not infringe on the ‘Calling’ of that entity to expand into ‘peasant’ territory.

This does explain why people in Europe, and in the US, who consider themselves ‘Left-Leaning’, always on the lookout for government ‘jobs’, subsidies and invading countries which do not respect the ‘Rules Based Order’, are imperialists and colonists, willing to sacrifice entire countries on the altar of their ‘Liberal Democratic’ belief-system. While marching side by side with ‘Bone Crushing’ extreme right wing Lindsey Grahams. Together they want to end the very idea of a ‘Multipolar’ world, and anything even remotely resembling a Free Market, using Tariffs, Sanctions and plenty of violence. It is not a happy, productive marriage. The pair is in desperate need of counseling, and without a country to ‘regime change’ or crush, they would butcher each other over nothing but a whisper. Someone has to tell them they ought to get a divorce, and grow up, before they destroy not only themselves, but the entire planet, and every human on it. Now, sit down, come to terms with reality, and talk!
