An essay on Zelensky calling Xi for help

The Big news today, related to the war in Ukraine, is that Zelensky called Xi Jinping. Neither Xi, nor Zelensky called me to debrief me personally. And at the time of writing there were no formal official statements yet. Since the ‘leaks’ revealed that the US is tapping Zelensky’s phone, we must assume that it was not necessarily a private chat. And since the Russians already exposed various confidential calls from a wide range of people in power in the West, it wouldn’t surprise me that they learned what was said ‘first hand’ as well. I do not feel like speculating, since it may cause confusion, where we desperately want clarity, for a change.

The Chinese are on a roll, brokering peace, or pushing for dialogue all over the place. And practicing what they preach, where they keep telling the US that they want to solve the ‘issues’ with Taiwan through dialogue, and that stationing an increasing American ‘presence’ on the island, and Chinese province, and flooding it with weapons, serves no purpose. So I can see why Zelensky wants the Chinese to offer him a lifeline, that’s not the point. The Americans however are in a pickle, since polls on the island of Taiwan are indicating that the KMT-party is likely to win the upcoming elections, and they want to talk, to avoid becoming another provoked war to serve the ambitions of the Neocons in the US, and their slavish followers on the other side of the Atlantic, in Britain and Europe. While their war in Ukraine is a basket case.

After the Chinese ambassador in Paris caused a furore in the ‘Collective West’ during an interview last week, in which he tried to interest his opposite number in that talk into meaningful dialogue by focussing on the dissolution of the Soviet Union as an unstructured event, with various power hungry, often extremely racist groups, with a strong focus on ethnicity, morphed into respect for transgender ‘identity’, and/or religion and culture harking back to a long buried past, claiming independence for the ‘Oblast’ (province/county) they happened to live in. Which almost always meant they ‘inherited’ a large number of people who considered themselves ethnic Russians, observing the Orthodox faith, and enamored with traditional Russian culture, often close to half of the population. In some cased, most certainly in the case of Ukraine, Communist leaders in Moscow at the time, added or subtracted territory to an ‘Oblast’ so as to enable them to ‘divide and conquer’ in the style of that century labeled ‘Real-Politik’. Still dominant in the ‘Collective West’, since it enables those in power to lie and cheat, while imposing ‘agenda’s’ not exposed to the public, and not in their best interest either. No longer ‘in vogue’ in the rest of the world.

Douglas Macgregor had another ‘chat’ with someone from a ‘Think Tank’ the other day, not about Ukraine for a change, but about various recent wars, and how they were not supported by the American public in general, while their leaders dragged the country from one war to the next, with full Congressional Approval. If the Americans closed ranks to support their country in the beginning, they lost interest soon enough, wondering what it was again that brought them there. Various US media are ‘sensing’ that the support for this latest racket in Ukraine is waning, and that Biden, who confirmed he will run for a second term, amazingly, is looking for a way out without losing face like he did in Afghanistan. That will be difficult, if not impossible. In public everyone is still upbeat about the upcoming ‘Spring Offensive’, but according to ‘Politico’, the ‘New York Times’ and the ‘Washington Post’ there are mounting doubts, and what if Ukraine is defeated on the battlefield, and Russia leaves this concept of a ‘War of Attrition’, and takes over the initiative with a ‘War of Conquest’, as I described yesterday? The US and the rest of the ‘Collective West’ may escape being held accountable by their own constituency, as is the rule, by claiming it never was their war to begin with, and that they were only helping a friend in need. This is unlikely to stick in Ukraine itself. Many Ukrainians will feel betrayed, and rightfully so. They were set up, used, thrown under the bus, and left on the side of the road.

Afghans, Iraqi, Libyans, and Syrians had the same experience. Allow me to add a familiar sequence of recent events which leads to war as the US has set its eyes on a country of ‘strategic importance’. In this case Sudan. Thanks to VRosen, who framed the events in a Tweet.

Non of this is about coming to the rescue of the people. In fact, the moment war breaks out, the people which might be useful to help their country in its development, leave on the first flight, and settle in Europe or the US, because they have the skills, education, and speak our language. Non of that is immediately useful in those countries being ‘Regime Changed’, or plunged into war by the ‘Usual Suspects’, who refuse to learn from previous experiences. Dumb, Fat and Happy they send weapons.

Along a similar path, these same ‘Suspects’ are trying to destabilize Thailand, as exposed by Brian Berletic, who has the wherewithal to note that he is a guest in the country, and that it is ultimately up to the people themselves to pick the right person to take them into the future. A rare quality for someone from the ‘Collective West’.

In other words, even if Ukraine is saved from being annihilated by a late conversion of its president, don’t expect this will end this trail of destruction, or the counter effective impulses to ‘sanction’ countries, ‘weaponizing’ the Dollar, until their is no trust in the currency left anywhere in the world.
