An essay about what is on the menu

What’s on the menu today? After explaining, in two separate interviews, that the ‘Minsk Accord’ was never meant to be implemented, since it was intended to ‘buy time’ for NATO to prepare Ukraine for this war with Russia, Merkel is changing tack, saying that everything she did was in ‘Good Faith’. The previous version, that the ‘Minsk Accord’ was a bold faced lie, still stands, because all the other Western leaders involved confirmed it. Hollande, Porochenko, and though Zelensky wasn’t involved, he lied to his own people about his intentions to use this ‘Accord’ as the template for the future development of Ukraine, while he allowed NATO to set his country up as the battleground for a war with Russia.

Now, clearly, my own concept of what is ‘true’, and what is a ‘lie’, is the product of my traditional middle class upbringing in the post-war period in Europe, when the country had to be rebuild. My dad ‘provided’ the family income, and my mother ran the household. She was ‘tasked’ to decide what was on the menu, and to prepare the food. We, the children, had a very limited influence on what was being served, and the menu was without options. You ate what was on the table, or you didn’t eat at all. The latter option was not a good long-term strategy. Moreover, my mother insisted on cod liver oil as a food supplement during the winter months, and a very limited supply of sugar laced drinks and sweets, very much in line with families elsewhere at the time. Why am I sharing this with you? To illustrate my thinking on a menu as being a ‘shared experience’ first and foremost, and not this lavish list of options they present to you when you visit a restaurant. Trade offs are part of this traditional concept, while the prime objective is not to keep everybody happy, but to ensure that all the family members are well nourished, and in shape. Something similar when we discuss behavior through this same traditional lens.

This ’shared experience’ is not the objective of our leaders in the West. They are not ‘providing’, since they need us to pay for their lavish life-style, nor do they cook, or run a restaurant. They are the ultimate consumers, not concerned with our health, or theirs, or in which shape we are to advance in life. What is ‘true’, is the meal they selected from the menu of the eatery they picked today. And if we are not there with them, they will send us pictures. Look over your shoulder, and recount all the bald faced lies they told us, as they changed their ‘version’ of events, and added or subtracted facts at will to suit their taste. Even the very notion of anything called ‘responsibility’ doesn’t enter the equation. If we remind them that they previously said something else entirely, and even if we’ve got the pictures, and ‘Way Back’ machine quotes to prove our point, they shrug and give you this blank stare. They can’t handle ‘spoil sports’ who take away all the fun.

Why we put up with those people, as they throw one lavish party after the other, while we are left with the bill, is beyond me. They do not accomplish anything at all. They wouldn’t know how. If I look at my ‘Google Feed’, or the ‘News’ provided by the mainstream media, it is a ‘star studded’ parade of people who were spoiled at some early stage in their lives, and never looked back, trampling on us ‘peasants’, being served with a note to ‘report for duty’ on a daily basis, rescheduled to different locations, until we perish on the front lines of yet another war they engaged in for their entertainment.

Merkel changing her tune didn’t go down well in Ukraine, or so I’m told. An adviser of Zelensky snapped that she apparently sold his country down the line in exchange for ‘cheap Russian gas’. Well, no, she sold Ukraine, and the Ukrainian people down the line as a ‘mise-en-bouche’, not even an appetizer, on the menu which had commodity-rich Russia as the main course, and workforce-rich China as a desert. The appetizer being the transformation of the ‘European Union’ from an industrial powerhouse into a corporate ‘service station’ after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

These people are not part of our world, though they emerged from it. It’s not merely these politicians. This entire court filled with self-important people who are groomed to think of themselves as God’s Gift to Mankind. Are you not entertained? There will be a better version of the war eventually, polished to perfection by ‘Hollywood’, like we had all those successful ‘series’ about Afghanistan, Iraq, and the heroes at the ‘CIA’ and all these other ‘Agencies’ and the casted ‘Military’, adding more lies. I do check the mainstream news for this blog, but it is, increasingly, a waste of time and energy. It does provide some insight in what the ‘Hollywood-version’ will look like, unless we put a stop to this nonsense, but it doesn’t inform me about real events which are having an impact on the outcome if reality crushes the scripted version eventually, as it must. I do fear the moment when this entire fake ‘dimension’, bought and paid for with ‘Donald Duck’-money, borrowed from future generations, will deflate, eventually. When ‘jobless’ will include those who do not ‘provide’, and have no way of understanding how to raise a family, and prepare a meal, build a home or anything useful, since they are accustomed to selecting what they need from a catalogue, and expect delivery ‘right on time’. Something has got to give. Merkel changing her tune is because she is smelling a rat, as the scripted outcome of this war is not going to happen. Nor is she going to taste this delicious main course, or the desert. It will be cod oil, if she is lucky.
