As we look at behaviour we reject, for whatever reason, we ask *why* that individual, or those people, act in that way. We will not be able to change their behaviour, or adopt our own response to avoid becoming a victim, unless we understand where that behaviour originated. Though I frequently refer my readers to well researched observations which reveal that human beings frequently act in 'Stupid' ways, I hesitated to offer any kind of explanation. And I'll tell you why in a moment.
My own thinking has been influenced by the theories provided by Sigmund Freud. Not merely because they sounded plausible, but because his nephew Edward Bernays developed strategies based on his theories, on how to influence people, and make them do 'Stupid' things, like buying stuff they didn't need, which actually worked like a charm. So much so, that Hitler's chief of propaganda, Goebbels, made 'good' use of what Bernays had found, and that evidently worked like a charm as well. One assumption of Freud, which I will use in this article as a plausible explanation for certain developments in Europe, and the world in general, is that human beings are *born* with certain innate urges. One such urge he identified was our common 'Death Wish', later coined 'Thanatos', an urge 'to lead organic life back into the inanimate state'.
Within his theory he proposed that we *learned* to defend against it, since giving in caused fear and grief. This defensive mechanism acted at the subconscious level. Neuroscientists found that the amygdala is highly important, since it controls our memories, needed to create this 'gatekeeper' of fear and grief, with 'moral', and 'self preserving' behaviour as a result. 'Don't do Stupid things'.
This scientific approach to human behaviour gave way to a 'behaviouristic' approach in psychology, which spread to other scientific disciplines labeled as 'humanistic', including sociology, political science and economy, which closed the lid on all the 'mechanics' involved, and proposed to proceed on the basis of 'trial and error', offering a certain 'input', and measuring the 'output', which created a 'statistic', and thus the 'tools' to influence behaviour in this direction, or that, as desired, without looking at the root causes, or individual differences. In a sense what Bernays and Goebbels already did. They were no scientists.
The entire field of 'human sciences' lost interest in finding the root causes, and when someone 'flipped', he or she was an individual outside the 'bandwidth' of the 'norm' of their statistic. And only in rare and extreme cases it was accepted that this individual was 'born that way'. In most cases it was assumed that certain events *caused* that behaviour through trauma. The never ending debate about 'nature' versus 'nurture', with 'nurture' suppressing the concept of innate urges. Moreover, the entire 'field' came to accept that human beings were 'pleasure seeking' animals, and hedonism and decadence were embraced as 'only natural'. And the field had to seek ways to create the conditions for mankind to 'feel good'.
With the discoveries in neuroscience, which identified 'pleasure centers' in the brain, and certain chemicals which stimulated those 'pleasure centers', produced naturally, or taken orally as part of our diet, soon enough the search was on for even more effective stimulants, 'drugs'. Increasingly offered as a prescription, but evidently also without, from powerful 'pain killers' to 'zombie drugs'.
Now let me go back to Freud and his proposition of accepting that men is born with a 'Death Wish', which has to be capped by a defensive mechanism in order to make us behave, and avoid self-harm. If not capped, we will excel in 'risk taking'. We will move towards the limits, or beyond. The lower the moral barriers, the larger our depravity. Our 'logic' will find explanations for that behaviour which doesn't fit any form of a principled approach, since 'logic' has been made subservient to our animalistic urges. Remember, those 'inhibitions', those defensive mechanisms Freud identified, were *conditioned* through childhood experiences, enshrined as 'fear' or 'grief'. 'Logic' only comes into play after we become conscious of what our brain 'desires'. And it tends to look for ways to make it happen. Go to war? Wait a minute, I'll make it sound like a 'logic' decision…….
Thus our upbringing has to be such that we learned early in life that we will suffer *serious* consequences if we allow our urges to drive our behaviour, if those urges are harmful. Harmful to others, and/or harmful to ourselves. And any truly loving and caring parent will 'offer' fear and grief to stop those urges in their tracks. In our Western society we went in the opposite direction. Not very smart. And counterproductive if you want peace to spread.
Now then, as a bit of an afterthought, though I feel strongly that we should look into it, there has been this warning by certain scientists that the 'spike protein' produced by those vaccines they came up with during the 'pandemic' penetrated the brain, where they 'attacked' the amygdala specifically, harming our defensive mechanism as described above, releasing our individual urges, among which this 'Death Wish'. I am specifically pointing you to a detailed book written by Dr. Michael Nehls related to that particular issue, 'Das Indoktrinierte Gehirn', translated into English as 'The Indoctrinated Brain'. He has a 'presence' on 'X'. But as a disclaimer I want to add that I'm unable to confirm or deny his findings. Yet, if there is any truth in what he says, it *would* fit the pattern of all these people today seeking war with Russia. Not just that, but as I've noted before, these 'leaders' cannot suppress the urge to smile, or even laugh, while demanding that we stay the course.
Within the framework of our present day science, even hinting that Freud might have had a point, or deviating from the Holy Consensus, is seen as a bad move if you want to be taken serious. But at this stage, I'll risk it. We are getting way too close to self destruction.
